Couple Gets a "Kickoff of a Lifetime" at N.C. State Football Game Thanks to Bailey's Jewelry
RALEIGH, N.C. (Dec. 15, 2008) - Kelly McSwain was given the “Kickoff of a Lifetime” when she was recently surprised by a proposal from her boyfriend, Sam Crisp of Rocky Mount, on the field between the first and second quarter of the Nov. 29 N.C. State home football game.
McSwain thought her family - longtime Wolfpack fans and supporters of Wolfpack athletics - was being recognized on the field for their ongoing support of the Wolfpack Club. To her surprise, Crisp, whom ironically she met at a Thursday night football game in October of 2003, was actually there to propose to her instead. She accepted his proposal.
Crisp was the lucky winner of the “Kickoff of a Lifetime” promotion at Bailey’s Fine Jewelry which was a contest to give away a 1-carat Cushette diamond ring to anyone willing to propose on the football field during the N.C. State home football game against the University of Miami.
“We’re delighted for Sam and Kelly and felt privileged to be a part of their ‘kickoff’ to a lifetime together,” said Trey Bailey, director of operations at Bailey’s Fine Jewelry. “We provide a lot of engagement rings, but we don’t ever get to see the proposals so this was almost as exciting for us as it was for them.”
Founded in 1948, Bailey’s Fine Jewelry is a family owned-and-operated company with stores in Raleigh, Rocky Mount and Greenville. Bailey’s offers jewelry from today’s most esteemed designers, exquisite diamonds, estate jewelry, fashion accessories, fine timepieces, gifts and is the No. 1 jeweler of Slane & Slane jewelry in the United States.
