RALEIGH, NC (July 1, 2010) – Rountree Communications and Bailey's Fine Jewelry received a Sir Walter Raleigh Award for Excellence in Communication at the Raleigh Public Relations Society's 51st Annual Sir Walter Raleigh Awards Banquet. Held at the RBC Center on June 29, the banquet was open to all Triangle-area communication professionals and honored public relations practitioners who have achieved excellence in a variety of categories.
Rountree Communications, a boutique public relations firm located in Highwoods office park, received a Silver Award in the first division in the Organizational Identity/Promotion category. The award was given in recognition of the 2009 Bailey Box public relations campaign. A product of Rountree Communications' public relations services and Bailey's “Finders, Keepers” program, the campaign earned the firm a spot in the RPRS showcase of outstanding work produced by public relations and communications practitioners in the Triangle.
“We're excited to share this with our client, Bailey's Fine Jewelry,” said Rick Rountree, founder and president of Rountree Communications. “Their keen sense of marketing and branding make them a wonderful client to work with and enable us to produce dynamic campaigns.”
All entries were evaluated by a panel of out-of-state judges selected for their expertise in public relations, and awards were given in 13 of the 25 categories across the six divisions. Entries were judged on specific elements of the submitted campaigns, including objectives, methods, results, creativity, quality and budget. Criteria for the category in which Rountree Communications and Bailey's Fine Jewelry received an award include a campaign designed to promote or distinguish an organization in the eye of the public or a specific audience.
The Sir Walter Raleigh Awards, the oldest awards recognizing North Carolina's public relations industry, honor all practitioners who have excelled in public relations—from small, independent organizations to full-service agencies.
Since its inception in 2000, Rountree Communications has relied on small business principles such as personal oversight and accountability to provide a unique approach to communications for both local and national clients, including Bailey's Fine Jewelry, Boddie-Noell Enterprises, SCYNEXIS, Baker Roofing and more.
