RALEIGH, N.C. (May 8, 2009) - Marci Bailey, fashion buyer and consultant for Bailey’s Fine Jewelry, will offer a sneak peek at her jewelry line at Raleigh’s Fashion Week (May 14-16) when she debuts a ring from her upcoming jewelry collection.
The centerpiece of the ring features a stunning round, smoky quartz with diamond-tipped prongs and 14k yellow gold. “This ring is what you would call a statement piece,” said Bailey. “I knew when I designed it that I wanted something really clean with an architectural profile. I wanted to highlight the stone to make it the centerpiece.”
The ring, with a suggested retail of $3,900, will be auctioned during the event to benefit one of the two charities supported at Raleigh Fashion Week, Interact or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
“I’ve been working on my own jewelry line for the past five or six years,” said Bailey. “I’ve been collecting stones and using them as inspiration to design pieces for myself and my friends. I’m excited to show my work to the public and support a local charity in the process.”
In addition to offering the public a sneak peek at her new line, Bailey will be assisting with selecting and styling the jewelry worn by models in all three runway shows during Fashion Week.
Bailey studied jewelry design at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) under some of the top designers in the county where she earned a degree as a Graduate Gemologist. While attending the GIA she took one of the first CAD/CAM courses offered for jewelry design. She also holds an associate degree in Business from Bellevue College. She has worked at retail jewelry stores across the country and has served as a fashion buyer and consultant for Bailey’s Fine Jewelry over the past five years. In addition to her role as fashion buyer and consultant at Bailey’s Fine Jewelry, she also oversees the Estate Jewelry Collection in all three stores.
