Marshes Light Model Home to be in 2008 Outer Banks Parade of Homes Oct. 9-12

MANTEO, N.C. (October 2008) – The Marshes Light waterfront development’s model home/sales center will be included in this year’s 16th Annual Parade of Homes Oct. 9-12.

The four-bedroom, two-story home at 326 Fernando Street is in the historic district of Manteo and was built to “The Manteo Way of Building” guidelines to conform to Roanoke Island architectural traditions. The home was built by local builder Steve Daniels of Renaissance Construction.

The Marshes Light house is one of five homes on Roanoke Island that have been included in this year's Parade. This 2,700-square-foot, 2 full-bath home is unique in blending in with the old-town feel of Manteo, including the use of beadboard wainscoting, reclaimed woods floors, tall ceilings, paneled doors, glass doorknobs and other vintage hardware. The beautifully appointed interior blends well with the personality of the ‘country coastal farmhouse’ look and feel.

“Steve Daniels has done a beautiful job with this home and we’re excited that Parade visitors will be able to enjoy a decorated home that was designed from the ground up to blend with the historic feel of Manteo and the waterfront here,” said Lee Whitley, director of marketing and sales for Marshes Light. The Marshes Light waterfront community is made up of single family home sites as well as two and three-bedroom marina villas and townhouse flats above retail space designed to carefully blend with the coastal traditions of Roanoke Island. Connected to downtown Manteo by a waterfront boardwalk, Marshes Light also features a beautiful new marina on Shallowbag Bay.

The 16th Annual Pride of Homes has 32 homes this year which will be showcased all the way from Corolla to Hatteras, including the unprecedented five homes on Roanoke Island. The event is sponsored by the Outer Banks Homebuilders Association and includes homes from 27 of the builder members.
