FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 20, 2009) - Local Hardee’s restaurants have partnered with The Patriot Foundation, an organization that raises funds to support children of military families and provides college scholarships to children of Fort Bragg soldiers.
During a four-week, in-store fundraiser beginning today, guests can purchase a $1 Patriot Foundation Card and receive a coupon sheet good for future visits. Hardee’s has set a $10,000 goal for the fundraiser which runs through Veterans Day (Nov. 11) and ends on Nov. 16.
All of the proceeds raised at the 24 participating Fayetteville-area Hardee’s will be donated directly to the Patriot Foundation. The Patriot Foundation provides educational scholarships that support children of 82nd Airborne soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, serving soldiers of the 18th Airborne Corps, as well as children of current, retired, and former Army Special Operations soldiers.
“We are delighted to add Boddie-Noell to our growing list of corporate partners,” said Chuck Deleot, chairman of the Patriot Foundation. “This is the seventh year we have supported the soldiers and families of Ft. Bragg. The money we raise not only makes it possible for a number of children to pursue the dream of a college education, but it is a powerful message to our deployed soldiers that people here support and appreciate them.”
The Patriot Foundation has funded scholarships for more than 250 children since 2003.
“We are really excited to begin this partnership with The Patriot Foundation,” said Jerry Allsbrook, chief marketing officer for Boddie-Noell Enterprises. “Especially in the midst of a recession, it is so important to support our troops and more importantly, their families back home and right here in North Carolina.”
